Privacy and Cookie Policy

RentForEx is a website for publishing and finding housing rental and rent-swap adverts. This policy explains what personal data we process when you use it, why, and what your rights are. We collect as little as we can: we do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking tools, and we do not sell your data.

2. What data we process
When you create an account
You log in through an external provider (Google, Facebook, Microsoft, or Apple). We never see or store your password. From the provider we keep only:
- the unique identifier the provider assigns to you, and the name of the provider;
- the date your account was created and the date of your last login.
We do not store your email address, real name, contacts, or any other profile information from the provider. You then choose a username and, optionally, a profile picture. Both are visible to other users.
When you publish an advert
- the description and characteristics of the home (type, rent, size, rooms, amenities) and its photos;
- the location you indicate (address and map coordinates) and, for rent swaps, the areas you are interested in;
- the contact details you decide to include: email, phone, WhatsApp number, and/or Telegram username.
Adverts are public. Everything you put in an advert, including the contact details and the location, can be seen by any visitor, with or without an account. Only include what you are comfortable sharing, and avoid photos that show people or documents.
When you use the chat
- the messages you send and receive, with their date, and which messages you have read;
- the users you block;
- if you report a user: the reason, the description you write, and the chat it refers to.
Technical data
Like any website, our server receives your IP address and basic browser information with each request, and may keep them temporarily in technical logs for security and troubleshooting.
3. Why we process it and on what legal basis

We do not make automated decisions about you and we do not build profiles.
4. Who receives your data
- Other users and visitors: your username, profile picture, and adverts are public; your chat messages are seen by the person you talk to.
- Hosting provider: the service is hosted by https://www.ionos.es, which processes data on our behalf.
- Authorities: only when the law requires it.
We do not share your data with anyone else and we do not sell it.
5. Third-party services
- Login providers. When you log in you are redirected to Google, Facebook (Meta), Microsoft, or Apple. Each of them processes your data under its own privacy policy and learns that you are logging in to RentForEx.
- Technical resources. To display fonts, maps, and some page features, your browser downloads files from Google Fonts, jsDelivr, unpkg, and GitHub Pages. These providers receive your IP address when serving those files. They do not set cookies on our site.
- External links. The WhatsApp, Telegram, and social network links take you to services that we do not control.
Some of these providers are located in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, it is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep it
- Account, adverts, and chats: until you delete them or delete your account.
- When you delete your account: your account, profile picture, adverts, photos, the chats about your adverts, and the messages you sent are deleted immediately and cannot be recovered.
- Reports: the content of a report is kept, without any link to the deleted accounts, for as long as needed to moderate the service and deal with possible claims.
- Technical logs: for a limited time, only as long as needed for security.
7. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to restrict or object to its processing. Most of this you can do yourself:
- change your username or profile picture from your profile;
- edit or delete your adverts from “Manage your adverts”;
- permanently delete your account and everything linked to it from the delete account page.
For anything else, write to rentforex.official@gmail.com. We will reply within one month. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or with the authority of your country.
8. Cookies
We only use the cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work. Because they are exempt from consent under Art. 22.2 of the Spanish Information Society Services Act (LSSI), we do not show a cookie banner. We use no analytics, advertising, or third-party cookies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but without JSESSIONID you will not be
able to log in.
9. Security
We apply reasonable technical measures to protect your data, such as encrypted connections and delegating login to specialised providers so that we never handle your password. No system is completely secure, so please be careful with what you publish and with the people you contact through the site.
10. Minors
RentForEx is intended for people aged 18 or over. If you are under 18, please do not create an account.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we process your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will let you know on the site.
