Terms of Use

These terms govern the use of RentForEx, a website for publishing and finding housing rental and rent-swap adverts. By creating an account or using the site you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Who we are

2. What RentForEx is, and what it is not

RentForEx is a noticeboard that puts people offering a home for rent or for a rent swap in touch with people looking for one. Adverts are written and published by users.

• We are not a real estate agency, landlord, tenant or intermediary, and we are not a party to any agreement between users.
• We do not verify the adverts, the homes, the identity of users, or their right to rent or swap a home.
• We do not handle payments, deposits, or contracts between users.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• You log in through an external provider (Google, Facebook, Microsoft, or Apple) and choose a username. Each person may have one account.
• Your username and profile picture must not impersonate another person or organisation, and must respect the content rules in section 5.
• You are responsible for what is done from your account. Keep the account you use to log in secure.

4. Adverts

RentForEx is only for housing. You may publish adverts exclusively to offer a house, apartment, or room for rent, or to swap the home you rent. Adverts for anything else are not allowed, including other products or services, jobs, holiday packages, commercial premises or promotion of other websites.

When you publish an advert you confirm that:

• the home exists, and the description, price, location, and photos are truthful and current;
• you have the right to offer it: you are the owner, or you are authorised by the owner, or, if you are a tenant, your contract and your landlord allow the sublet or swap;
• the contact details you include are yours, or you have permission to publish them;
• the advert does not discriminate against anyone on grounds such as origin, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or age;
• you will remove the advert once the home is no longer available.

Each account may have up to 10 rental adverts and 1 rent-swap advert published at the same time. Duplicate adverts for the same home are not allowed.

5. Images and other content

Photos in adverts must show the home being advertised. In adverts, profile pictures, chat messages, or any other part of the site, you must not upload or share content that:

• is pornographic, sexually explicit, or sexually suggestive;
• is sexist, racist, xenophobic, homophobic or otherwise hateful or degrading towards a person or group;
• is violent, threatening, harassing, or defamatory;
• shows identifiable people without their permission, or reveals other people's personal data;
• infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights, for example photos taken from another advert or website;
• is illegal, or promotes illegal activities.

6. Chat

The chat exists so that people interested in an advert can talk to the person who published it. You may use it only for conversations about renting or swapping the home in that advert. You must not use it:

• to send spam, chain messages, or repeated unsolicited messages;
• to advertise or sell products, services, websites, or anything unrelated to the home;
• to harass, insult, threaten, or pressure other users;
• to try to obtain money, bank details, passwords, or identity documents through deception.

You can block any user and report them from the chat. We may review the messages of a reported chat in order to handle the report.

7. Other things you must not do

• Use the site for fraud or scams, for example asking for payments or deposits for a home that you cannot actually rent out.
• Collect adverts or users' contact details in bulk, or use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools on the site.
• Use the contact details shown in adverts for anything other than enquiring about that home.
• Attempt to disrupt the site, bypass its limits or access other users' accounts.

8. Moderation

We do not review content before it is published, but we may act when we become aware of content or behaviour that breaks these terms or the law. Depending on how serious it is, we may:

• remove or hide adverts, images, or messages;
• suspend or permanently close the account.

To report an advert, an image, or a user, use the report option in the chat or write to rentforex.official@gmail.com, indicating the content and the reason. If you believe we have removed your content or closed your account by mistake, write to the same address and we will review the decision. We may report illegal content to the authorities.

9. Rights over the content

You keep the rights to the texts and photos you publish. By publishing them you give us permission, free of charge and for as long as they remain on the site, to store, display and adapt them (for example, resizing images) for the sole purpose of running RentForEx. The design, name, and code of the site belong to us and may not be copied without permission.

10. Stay safe

We cannot guarantee that an advert is genuine or that another user is who they claim to be. Visit the home and check who you are dealing with before paying anything or signing a contract, and never send money or documents to someone you have not verified. If something looks suspicious, report it.

11. Our responsibility

• The site is currently provided free of charge and “as is”. We try to keep it available and working, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
• Users are solely responsible for the content they publish and for the agreements they reach with each other. We are not liable for the accuracy of adverts, the condition of the homes, or the conduct of users.
• We are not liable for content published by users unless we have actual knowledge that it is illegal and fail to act diligently to remove it.
• Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time from the delete account page. Your adverts, photos, and messages are deleted with it. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the site, or any part of it, at any time.

13. Personal data

How we process your personal data and the cookies we use are explained in our Privacy and Cookie Policy.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will publish the new version on this page with its date and, if the changes are significant, let you know on the site. If you keep using RentForEx after the changes take effect, you accept the new terms.

15. Applicable law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, any dispute will be heard by the courts of your place of residence.
